Dave Golber's Violin Shop, Medford, MA

Members asked for a scroll carving demo, and Dave has kindly agreed to provide his expertise and shop space. Many thanks! This will be a great way to pick back up on our NEL meetings after a little time off.

Location:574 Boston Ave, Medford. Phone in the shop is 781/396-2323.
Time:Noon, Sept 5th, 2004.

To get there: Davis Square, up College Avenue to Powderhouse Circle. Straight across the circle. You are now on Warner Street. Go about 4 blocks. The road is now about to dive under the commuter rail. St Clement's Church is on your left. (This is the intersection of Boston Ave and Warner St.) Across the street on your left is an old furniture factory. That's the place. It's full of small and medium size shops ... great building. I'm on the fourth floor. (There may be space in the building ...)

Coming from the north/south. Take I-93 to the Mystic Ave, Somerville exit. Take Mystic Ave north, towards Medford. When you see the Staples and Dunkin Donuts on your right, turn left at the next light onto Harvard Street (this becomes Warner), and follow this for 3-4 traffic lights. After it goes under the commuter rail, the building is on your right. St. Clements is across the street on the right. If you hit the Powderhouse rotary you have gone too far.

There should be a lot of space in the parking lot on Sunday - especially if Mass at St Clement's is out ...

Problem: the doors of the building will be locked, and I will have to let you in. Come before noon. I will come down to the door (the loading-dock door at the East end of the building, near the big parking area) just before noon and let you in. If you get there after noon, call (sorry, I don't think there is a real close public phone), and someone will come down. Or you can walk out on the tracks (my shop faces the tracks) and yell.
